Location: Houston, TX (onsite)

Industry: Technology Equipment; small but scaling company

Compensation: $125,000 – $160,000 base salary + bonus

Overview

We are partnering with a growing IT equipment company supporting large enterprise clients. As the organization continues to scale, they are seeking a hands-on VP of Finance / Controller to lead core accounting operations while also driving financial planning and analysis. Ideally having experience with small companies/teams and must be very hands-on!

This role will serve as a key financial leader within the organization, responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, building scalable processes, and providing actionable insights to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting
  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial health of the business
  • Support audits and manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
  • Build and scale financial infrastructure to support company growth

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting AND finance, with at least 3-5 years of leadership responsibilities
  • Prior experience in a Controller or VP-level finance role within a small to mid-sized company
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis (FP&A)
  • Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically
  • Experience in technology, IT services, asset management, or related industries is a plus but NOT at all required. We are more intersted in you skills and persoanlity
  • CPA a plus; not required
