Mayfly Outdoors continues to expand production of premium fly fishing equipment and precision-machined metal components. This CNC Machinist position supports both prototype development and steady production work, ensuring high-quality parts that go directly into finished outdoor products under brands like Abel, Ross Reels, Airflo, and Dyna-King.
This is not anonymous job shop work — the parts you machine become real consumer products used in the field.
The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes
Run multi-axis machining centers for production and prototype work
Load, run, and edit programs at the machine (G-code edits and offset adjustments)
Select tooling, set offsets, and verify workholding
Hold tight tolerances while maintaining production efficiency
Perform first-article and in-process inspection using precision measuring tools
Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T
Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust feeds/speeds/offsets
Support new product launches and process improvements
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams
Maintain clean, organized, safe work areas

Machines: CNC Mills & CNC Lathes (multi-axis capable), Mori and Multis machineryProgramming: G-Code editing at the machineERP Systems: NetSuite, InforInspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, dial indicators

What We're Looking For
2+ years CNC machining experience
Experience running CNC mills and/or CNC lathes
Multi-axis machining exposure
Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
Strong knowledge of tooling, speeds, feeds, and offsets
Proficiency with precision measuring tools
Reliable, safety-minded, and team-oriented
Experience editing G-code at the machine
Experience with Mori or Multis equipment
Production machining experience in consumer products or precision manufacturing
