Performs complex, highly skilled technical work in the design, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of ITS hardware, data communications equipment, and industrial control systems. Provides leadership and oversight for Technical Hardware Analyst I and II staff, ensuring reliable operation of Houstons traffic communications network, which includes Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), Mid-Block Counter (MBC) devices, Bluetooth devices, and a large fiber-optic backbone. RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead and mentor Technical Hardware Analyst I and II staff, providing technical guidance, training, and oversight. Design, evaluate, and implement ITS communication networks and microprocessor-based control systems. Troubleshoot and maintain Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), including airport systems, ensuring reliable operation and timely messaging.
