JOB SUMMARY: The Field Inspector supports the delivery of energy efficiency programs for commercial and industrial customers across New Jersey. This role involves conducting site inspections, verifying project scope and compliance, and preparing detailed reports to support program objectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Site Inspections Conduct on-site inspections for commercial and industrial energy efficiency projects Document building conditions, operations, and identify efficiency opportunities Verify compliance with program requirements Coordination & Scheduling Coordinate and schedule site visits with customers across New Jersey Confirm project scope aligns with applications and program records Reporting & Documentation Prepare inspection reports including findings, photographs, and action items Maintain accurate documentation using program workbooks and systems Data & Pipeline Management Manage inspector queue and assigned workload Review and analyze pipeline data and reporting Stakeholder Communication Communicate effectively with building owners, contractors, and operations teams Provide updates and resolve discrepancies as needed REQUIRED SKILLS: Understanding of building science (mechanical, electrical, weatherization systems) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently in field environments EXPERIENCE: Experience conducting energy efficiency inspections for commercial/industrial buildings (preferred) EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience TRAVEL: Up to 30% local/regional travel within New Jersey ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must reside in New Jersey (preferred: Newark, Jersey City, Hoboken area) Valid driver's license and clean driving record Reliable personal transportation (candidate responsible for maintenance and costs) Ability to work with diverse customers and stakeholders Education: Bachelors Degree
