About the Role:
The Food Safety Operations Assistant plays an important role in supporting the implementation and maintenance of food safety protocols within our organization. This position ensures that all food handling, preparation, and storage processes comply with federal, state, and local regulations to protect consumer health and uphold company standards. The assistant collaborates closely with quality assurance and operations teams to monitor safety practices, conduct inspections, and document findings accurately. By proactively identifying potential risks and assisting in corrective actions, this role helps prevent contamination and foodborne illnesses. Ultimately, the Food Safety Operations Assistant contributes to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment that fosters customer trust and regulatory compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic understanding of food safety principles and regulations (HACCP).
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols.
Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for documentation and reporting.
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or certification in food safety, quality assurance, or a related field.
Experience working in a food production or food service environment.
Familiarity with food safety management systems and audit processes.
Ability to use specialized food safety software or tools.
Knowledge of allergen control and sanitation best practices.
Responsibilities:
Assist in conducting routine inspections of food production and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Support the documentation and reporting of food safety audits, incidents, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement food safety training and awareness programs.
Help maintain accurate records of temperature controls, cleaning schedules, and equipment maintenance.
Participate in investigations of food safety incidents and assist in developing preventive measures.
