About the Role

Apave is looking for a third-party inspector for inspections and certifications primarily in the fabrication and pressure equipment industry.

Key Responsibilities

Performs third-party inspections, certifications of equipment in accordance with ASME Codes, PED and various international regulations or project specifications at assigned manufacturing locations in and around Texas. May require travel within United States on short trips.

Monitors quality control system for compliance with relevant codes and requirements, performs surveillance or certification audits.

Issues reports and certificates as and when necessary.

Acquires and maintains knowledge of the applicable sections of the ASME code and international regulations.

Willing to undergo training for competency certification and continuing education to enhance knowledge.

Ability to adhere to established company policies, directives, and procedures, and to ensure accurate and timely reporting and submission of results for assigned activities

Requirements

  • Expertise
    Comprehensive knowledge of fabrication, welding, NDT and quality assurance systems. General knowledge of steel fabrication practices, including cutting, forming, shaping, rolling and heat treatment. Possess good analytical and problem-solving ability.

  • Experience
    5 years minimum.

  • Certifications
    National Board Authorized Inspector Commission preferably with B endorsement plus Internationally reputed certifications in welding inspection, NDE, Quality Assurance auditing. Candidates with Inservice Inspector commission and additional endorsement will be advantageous for this position.

  • Background
    Must have a high school diploma, a STEM BS or AS degree is preferred. Candidates with higher experience and demonstrated technical competence without meeting educational requirements will be considered.

  • Computer skills
    Proficiency with MS Office.

  • Travel
    Willingness to travel as needed.

  • Languages
    English. Good communication skills and technical writing abilities are essential.
