Position Summary:
The GCC Program Administrator will be responsible for providing programmatic, administrative, financial, and operational support for several GCC research and training groups and initiatives to meet organizational objectives, including the administrative management of multi-institutional programs and related events and activities. The ideal candidate can communicate effectively with faculty, students and others, both internally and externally, and works well in a team environment. The Gulf Coast Consortia (GCC) is a collaborative, eight-member academic organization, located at Rice, focused on building interdisciplinary and multi-institutional partnerships and expanding training and research opportunities in the quantitative biomedical sciences.
The ideal candidate is a capable, people-oriented, detail-oriented person, with a track record of excellent customer service in an academic environment. He or she will have experience in organizing and implementing conferences, workshops and other events and in assisting with program administration and proposal development.
Workplace Requirements:
The office for this position is located in the BioScience Research Collaborative, 6500 Main Street, Houston.
This position is offered as a hybrid role, combining both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. Typically, this is 3-4 days/week in the office. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.
The anticipated appointment dates are May 18, 2026, through November 13, 2026 (40 hours a week).
