Midsize Law Firm seeking a Litigation Attorney (Eminent Domain, Land Use, & Commercial Litigation) to join their practice in Houston

  • Compensation: $200,000 - $250,000 base salary plus bonuses

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of litigation experience, specifically in eminent domain, energy/land‑use litigation, and commercial litigation.
  • Experience representing condemners (e.g., utilities, pipeline companies, common carriers) throughout all phases of the condemnation process.
  • Ability to manage matters from survey access and initial offers through special commissioners' hearings and judicial proceedings involving right‑to‑take and damages issues.
  • Strong background handling complex, multi‑party, and multi‑district litigation.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop and execute sophisticated litigation strategies independently.
  • Experience working with clients in the energy sector, including gas utilities, pipeline companies, and electrical utilities.
  • Ability to navigate both temporary and permanent easement acquisitions for transmission and lateral lines.
  • Strong courtroom skills and comfort managing cases from early investigation through trial.
  • Licensed and in good standing with Texas State Bar
  • Strong academic credentials and job tenure
