This opportunity is Hybrid.The RoleWood is currently seeking an experienced Expeditor Lead to join our team in Houston. This role will be responsible for the expediting of Purchase Orders to ensure delivery on time and within project schedules/purchase order terms. It will coordinate all aspects of desk and field expediting as determined by project strategy, processes, and procedures. It ensures personnel carry out expediting activities have a clear understanding of processes and procedures. We offer a comprehensive range of engineering and project management services and are market-leading integrators of refinery and petrochemicals facilities, driving innovation in sustainable fuels and advanced materials for the energy transition.What We Can OfferMeaningful and interesting projects delivered to leaders of industry across our Process & Chemicals sector.Flexible working arrangements that balance client, team and individual needs.Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion; we are an organization actively committed to diversity and inclusion across our business with employee networks committed to giving all employees a voice.Competitive salary with regular salary reviews to ensure we are rewarding at the right level in line with the market.Flexible benefits package that can be adapted to suit your lifestyle.Commitment to continued professional development; development plans that are tailored to your individual needs and interests.Global connections: join experts around the world who are at the leading edge of our industry, shaping the standards of our profession.ResponsibilitiesEstablishes priorities, assigns workloads and manages expediting team performanceReview and manage the more difficult and complex aspects of the expediting workload.Has detailed understanding of the supplier delivery obligations from the terms and conditions of purchaseReview and interpret supplier production plans/schedules, identify delivery improvement opportunities and negotiate delivery improvements / slippage recovery plansCreation of daily expediting reports in materials management system.Expediting of purchase orders daily with priority focus.Updating of materials management system with the expediting status of Purchase Orders.Continually set expediting follow up dates in materials management system.Obtain quotations for field expediting plans and C.V.'s of 3rd party expediting providers.Place purchase order for 3rd party expediting services.Liaise with field expediting suppliers to co-ordinate expediting visits.Receive, review and issue field expediting progress reports and update system accordingly.Review expediting reports to confirm status of orders, sub-orders and validate the agreed manufacturing schedules.Monitor the progress of receipt and return of supplier documentation.Notifying Supply Chain Manager of any potential schedule slippages.Negotiate improved delivery / recovery plans where required.Visit suppliers on request of the SCM and Material Manager on the project.Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood, now or in the future.QualificationsQualified to ISCED Level 4/5 (Post-Secondary non-tertiary/Short-Cycle tertiary)Minimum 7 years expediting experience demonstrating resultsDetailed knowledge of Suppliers, Manufacturing Schedules and Expediting.Detailed knowledge of terms and conditions of purchase/supplier obligations Experience of:Previous experience in a similar level rolePrevious use of ERP's such as Maximo, Oracle, SAPBroad knowledge of Suppliers Personal attributes:Detailed Knowledge of Materials & Document Expediting PracticesStrong Team PlayerExcellent Communication SkillsAdaptability and Problem Solving Skills Ability to:Work under pressure to meet deadlinesProvide reports to senior management, as requestedDelegate and coordinate tasks to colleaguesAbout UsWood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
