Role: Electrical Designer

Hours: Fulltime 40 hrs./week

Location: Onsite fulltime 5 days/week - flexible hours

Duration: Contract to Hire - likely to convert in 3-6 months depending on performance

Compensation: $40/hr to $55/hr.

Insight Global is hiring a Electrical CAD Designer for a client in the Houston area (Jersey Village). This role will be responsible for designing various electrical components and schematics from scratch. Including switchgears, VFD cabinets/enclosures, line up designs, switch panels, electrical houses etc. They will join a team of existing designers (6 + manager) and collaborate with the engineering team for schematics/approvals on designs. - Design electrical cabinets, panels, and power systems. - Build wiring diagrams and schematics from scratch. - Design VFD cabinets and MCC style lineups. - Choose components and lay out how everything connects. - Ensure drawings meet electrical codes and standards. - Support engineers, fabrication, and field teams.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Strong AutoCAD Electrical - creating designs and schematics from scratch - (i.e switchgear)
• Experience creating electrical engineering schematics (ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and power schematics.)
• Experience creating Electrical Panel/Electrical enclosure design/Electrical cabinets (VFD cabinets, MCCs, switch panels, and electrical houses.)
• 5+ Years of experience in electrical design

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Mechanical 3D Design experience (Autodesk Inventor) - ability to take electrical enclosure from start to finish

Compensation:

$40/hr to $55/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
