Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Location: North Texas (On-site)

Position Overview

The EHS Manager is responsible for overseeing and advancing environmental, health, and safety programs at the site level. This role ensures regulatory compliance, drives proactive risk reduction initiatives, and fosters a culture focused on employee well-being and operational safety. The position serves as a key partner to site leadership, providing expertise, guidance, and accountability across all EHS-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Risk Management

  • Lead implementation and continuous improvement of site-level safety programs aligned with regulatory and corporate standards
  • Conduct routine hazard analyses, risk assessments, and workplace inspections to identify and mitigate potential risks
  • Oversee incident reporting processes, including investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions
  • Monitor completion and effectiveness of corrective measures to prevent recurrence

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Maintain and analyze safety performance metrics (e.g., incident rates, near misses, audit findings, training compliance)
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to site and corporate leadership
  • Utilize data trends to recommend and implement improvements to safety processes and procedures

Workers' Compensation & Case Management

  • Administer the site's workers' compensation program, including claim coordination, medical follow-ups, and return-to-work processes
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to support injured employees and ensure appropriate workplace accommodations

Regulatory Compliance & Environmental Management

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations
  • Manage required environmental permits, reporting, and documentation
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory inspections, audits, and external agencies
  • Stay current on evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices

Training & Employee Engagement

  • Oversee and maintain site training systems, ensuring all employees complete required safety and compliance training
  • Deliver and support training programs on key safety topics such as hazard communication, lockout/tagout, powered equipment, confined space, and emergency response
  • Participate in onboarding processes to ensure new employees receive appropriate EHS orientation

Audits & Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct frequent workplace audits to assess compliance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Partner with operational leaders to strengthen safe work practices and reinforce accountability
  • Support updates to procedures, work instructions, and safety documentation based on audit findings and incident trends

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with operations, HR, and leadership teams to integrate safety into daily operations
  • Coordinate with external vendors, consultants, and subject matter experts as needed
  • Lead or support safety committees and regular meetings to review performance and drive engagement

Health, Wellness & Ergonomics

  • Promote programs that support employee health, wellness, and injury prevention
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements to reduce strain and injury risk
  • Evaluate and manage personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent experience (5+ years in EHS roles) may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Professional certification such as ASP or CSP is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in safety, environmental compliance, and risk management within an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of applicable regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements
  • Ability to interpret data, generate reports, and drive actionable insights
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) REQUIRED
