Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site role for Dance Instructors specializing in Hip-Hop, Cheer/Pom, Ballet, or Mommy & Me classes. Instructors will lead and design engaging dance lessons, teach proper technique, foster a positive learning environment, and motivate students. The position requires consistent class preparation and collaboration with studio staff to ensure a high-quality experience for both students and families. Classes will be held at the two Houston, TX locations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Dance Instruction, including teaching dance techniques and leading classes
  • Background in Dance Education and a strong understanding of dance fundamentals
  • Proficiency in specific dance styles, such as Hip-Hop, Cheer/Pom, Ballet, or Mommy & Me
  • Knowledge of musicality and the ability to incorporate music effectively into dance lessons
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and parents
  • Ability to create an encouraging and inclusive environment for students of all skill levels
  • Previous experience teaching children is a must
  • Certification or formal training in dance or related fields is preferred

River Oaks Dance is a premier children's dance studio in Houston with two locations, known for combining strong technical training with a positive, engaging classroom environment.

We are seeking a part-time Ballet Instructor for the 2026–2027 season to teach dancers ages ~3–15 using a structured, developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Details

  • Schedule: Afternoon/evening + Saturday availability
  • Term: September 2026 – May 2027
  • Compensation: $45–$55/hour, based on experience
