Commissioning Coordinator IV in Houston, TX

  • Pay Range: $50/hr. - $57/hr. (commensurate with experience)
  • Contract role with hybrid work arrangement
  • Travel required (approximately 20–30 days per quarter)

We're looking for a highly experienced Commissioning Coordinator to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of commissioning and start-up activities for pipeline and gas transmission projects. This role is ideal for someone who brings both strong coordination skills and hands-on technical expertise in the field.

In this position, you'll play a critical role in ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for operation. You'll collaborate closely with project teams, construction, and operations while managing commissioning activities across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead coordination of field commissioning activities across small to large-scale projects
  • Develop and execute commissioning and start-up plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource requirements
  • Perform hands-on commissioning tasks such as configuration, calibration, troubleshooting, and functional testing
  • Provide technical support to resolve issues identified during commissioning phases
  • Review engineering designs (mechanical, electrical, process, instrumentation) and provide commissioning input
  • Oversee third-party contractors and internal technicians to ensure successful project delivery
  • Manage equipment handover from construction through commissioning to operations
  • Ensure all activities meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Track and resolve deficiencies while maintaining project timelines

What You Bring:

  • Technical degree or diploma
  • 10+ years of relevant technical experience
  • Strong working knowledge of industry codes and standards (API, NEC, CSA, NFPA, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, instrumentation, control systems, and commissioning tools
  • Proven ability to lead, coordinate, and influence diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of safety practices including LOTO and electrical safety

Preferred:

  • Commissioning experience in the oil & gas industry
  • Experience with rotating and static equipment
