* Please note this is a Part-time position: 2-2.5 hours per day.Objective:The Part-Time Lunch Aide assists in maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly environment during student lunch periods. This role involves supervising students in the cafeteria and/or on the playground, assisting with meal distribution, ensuring proper behavior, and promoting a positive, respectful atmosphere.Typically, this position is part-time during school lunch hours.Essential Functions:* Supervise students in the cafeteria, playground, or designated lunch areas to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.* Assist younger students with opening food containers, using utensils, and cleaning up after meals.* Monitor food lines and help maintain an orderly flow of students.* Encourage good table manners, cooperation, and respectful interactions.* Respond calmly and effectively to student issues or conflicts; report serious concerns to appropriate staff.* Clean tables, chairs, and floors before and after lunch periods; dispose of trash properly.* Assist custodial staff with maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.* Ensure compliance with school policies and safety procedures.* *Perform other duties as assigned or required.Professionalism:* To be punctual and be available during official working hours.* To comply with AAMA policies, standards, rules, regulations, and procedures.* To take precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities.* To participate responsibly in the school's improvement initiatives.* To demonstrate timeliness and attendance for assigned responsibilities.* To work collaboratively with other professionals and staff.* To provide and accept evaluative feedback professionally.* Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about school personnel.Required Skills & Competencies:* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.* Effective communication skills and a positive, cooperative attitude.* Active Listening.* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.* Ability to work effectively with students.* Ability to communicate effectively.Working Conditions:* Work is performed primarily indoors (cafeteria) and occasionally outdoors (playground).* Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 25 lbs.).* Exposure to noise and varying temperatures depending on location.Required Education and Qualifications:* High School diploma or equivalent* Required: Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)* Required: Prior experience working with children.* Ability to supervise and manage groups of students in a positive, fair, and consistent manner.* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.* Dependability, patience, and a caring attitude toward children.
