Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator - Yard to support shipping operations at our Houston facility. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and skilled in material handling within a fast-paced outdoor environment. This role ensures safe and accurate product movement, load preparation, and yard organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, and move pipe products
• Follow all company and OSHA-compliant safety standards
• Verify product counts against packing slips and inspect materials for damage
• Keep staging and storage areas clean and properly organized
• Pre-build units to support next-day shipping as needed
• Complete daily forklift inspections
• Conduct yard inventory counts
• Clean and maintain the yard at the end of each shift
• Read and interpret pipe prints to distinguish sizes
• Place pipe from partial pallets into proper piece racks
• Work effectively in all weather conditions
• Other duties assigned by manager

What We're Looking For

• 3-5 years of forklift experience (yard or industrial environment preferred)
• Ability to read, count, and follow written instructions
• Strong safety awareness
• High school diploma or GED
• Willingness to work outdoors year-round
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift 50lbs
