About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Protein Purification Scientist to support downstream process development and purification of recombinant proteins and antibodies. This role will be responsible for executing purification workflows, performing analytical characterization, and ensuring high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Downstream Processing & Chromatography

• Operate and maintain AKTA Pure systems using UNICORN software for protein and antibody purification
• Execute purification processes for proteins expressed in mammalian systems (HEK293, CHO)
• Apply chromatography techniques including:
• Affinity (IMAC, Protein A/G)
• Ion Exchange (IEX)
• Size Exclusion (SEC)
• Hydrophobic Interaction (HIC)
• Scale purification workflows from pilot to multi-liter production
• Perform column packing, optimization, and troubleshooting

Quality Control & Analytical Characterization

• Conduct protein analysis using SDS-PAGE and Western Blot
• Perform HPLC-SEC for protein purity and aggregation assessment
• Execute stability and binding assays including:
• Differential Scanning Fluorimetry (DSF)
• ELISA
• BLI
• Analyze and interpret data to support product quality and development

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and experimental records
• Follow SOPs and ensure compliance with internal quality standards
• Support documentation required for traceability in a CRO/client-facing environment

Requirements

• Ph.D., Master's, or Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with protein purification and downstream processing
• Strong expertise in chromatography and analytical techniques listed above
• Experience working with mammalian expression systems preferred
• Prior experience in a CRO or fast-paced research environment is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
