Seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the replacement and upgrade of network equipment across various businesses within the client group. This role will serve as a subject matter expert on the enterprise network platform and will support locations and equipment being replaced, ensuring all services are fully restored.
The engineer will be involved in daily operations support before, during, and after each lifecycle event (equipment exchange) within project activities. Responsibilities include providing design guidance, defining steps, and delivering architectural support. The role will also act as the escalation point for all network-related issues associated with equipment replacement and will be responsible for documenting both pre- and post-implementation states.
As a Network Lifecycle Contractor, you will work alongside the client network team and local site representatives to:
• Gather specifications and use cases for current and future equipment capabilities, ensuring full documentation of the existing environment
• Ensure appropriate equipment is acquired, delivered, and properly configured as part of the replacement process
• Travel domestically to sites where lifecycle events will occur
• Perform migrations to new equipment during off-hours (evenings or weekends)
• Analyze and resolve networking issues following migration to ensure business continuity and service parity
• Implement network configuration changes with minimal downtime and in alignment with change management policies
• Ensure configuration standards and support documentation are complete
• Reduce security risk by securing network platforms against vulnerabilities and maintaining patch cycles for all network software and hardware
• Collaborate effectively with peers, cross-functional teams, and customers to develop solutions and resolve issues
What We Need From You
• 8+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience – Required
• Aruba Wireless experience using Instant Access Points – Required
• FortiGate firewall experience – Required
• Strong knowledge of switching/routing and how network services integrate with site-level networking equipment during lifecycle events – Required
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools (SolarWinds, FortiManager, Aruba Central) – Preferred
• CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) – Preferred
• Aruba (or equivalent) wireless certifications – Preferred
