Security Receptionist (Lobby / Metal Detector Officer)

Pay: $17.00 per hour Schedule: Full-Time | 40 hours/week Days Off: Tuesday & Wednesday Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Position Overview

We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Security Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact at a high-visibility location. This role is primarily stationed in the lobby and plays a critical part in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and controlled environment.

This is not a patrol-heavy position; the primary focus is front desk operations, guest interaction, and access control, including the use of a metal detector system.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist all visitors, tenants, and staff with professionalism and courtesy

• Operate and monitor a metal detector system to ensure safe entry procedures

• Maintain a strong customer service presence while enforcing site policies

• Coordinate and communicate effectively with law enforcement and on-site volunteers

• Monitor lobby activity and report any suspicious behavior or incidents

• Perform minimal patrols of the property as needed

• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and visitor records

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Professional appearance and demeanor with a friendly, approachable attitude

• Ability to remain calm and attentive in a public-facing environment

• Prior security or front desk experience preferred, but not required

• Ability to stand/sit for extended periods and operate screening equipment

• Reliable transportation and punctuality required
