Power & Renewables Transactions Associate – Houston

A leading US law firm with a highly active and growing Energy practice is looking to add an associate (4–6 PQE) to its Houston team.

This is a strong opportunity to join a well established platform advising on complex, high value transactions across the power and renewables space, working alongside senior attorneys on market leading deals.

The role:

You will play a key role in advising clients on:

• M&A transactions across power and renewable energy assets
• Joint ventures and development arrangements
• Drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, JV agreements, and related documentation
• Managing due diligence processes and supporting transaction execution through to close

You will be given direct exposure to clients and the opportunity to work within multi disciplinary teams across offices on sophisticated, high profile matters.

What they are looking for:

• 4–6 years' experience in transactional energy work
• Strong exposure to power and/or renewables M&A and joint ventures
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
• Highly organised, with strong project management capability
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, collaborative environment

Requirements:

• J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
• Qualified and in good standing with the Texas Bar (or ability to become admitted promptly)
