Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking aWorking Maintenance Supervisorto lead daily maintenance operations in a heavy fabrication shop (heat exchangers and tank fabrication).

This role is hands-on by design. You will be expected to work alongside your team, troubleshoot equipment, and actively participate in repairs.

You will lead by example, ensuring equipment stays operational while building discipline and accountability within the maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities:

Hands-On Maintenance Leadership

  • Supervise and work alongside maintenance technicians daily

  • Lead by example in troubleshooting and repairs

  • Take ownership of critical equipment issues

Daily Execution

  • Assign and prioritize work based on production needs

  • Respond quickly to breakdowns and minimize downtime

  • Ensure repairs are done correctly the first time

Preventive Maintenance

  • Execute and enforce PM schedules

  • Ensure PMs are completed, documented, and effective

  • Identify and escalate recurring issues

Equipment Troubleshooting

Hands-on involvement with:

  • Welding systems (SMAW, GTAW, SAW)

  • CNC plasma tables

  • Plate rolls, positioners, and forming equipment

  • Overhead cranes and hoists

  • Air compressors and facility utilities

Work Order & Tracking

  • Manage and close out work orders

  • Accurately track labor, materials, and downtime

  • Provide clear notes and status updates

Production Coordination

  • Work directly with production supervisors

  • Plan maintenance around fabrication schedules

  • Communicate equipment status clearly and proactively

Safety

  • Enforce safe work practices:

  • Lockout/Tagout

  • Rigging and lifting

  • Electrical safety

  • Ensure work is done safely—no shortcuts

Qualifications:

Required

  • 5+ years in industrial maintenance (fabrication or heavy manufacturing preferred)

  • 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role

  • Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Mechanical systems

  • Electrical troubleshooting (practical level)

  • Hydraulics and pneumatics

Preferred

  • Experience in heavy fabrication shops

  • Familiarity with CMMS systems

  • Experience with overhead cranes and heavy material handling
