POSITION SUMMARY

The accountant is responsible for managing core accounting functions while also handle payroll processing and supporting key HR administrative functions, including benefits administration, onboarding, and maintenance of employee policies. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial and employee-related processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting

Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing necessary journal entries, account reconciliations, reviewing financials data, and ensuring timely reporting in accordance with GAAP.

  • Support audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of required documentation
  • Support other general accounting activities

Payroll/Benefits

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Act as the primary company liaison for annual benefits enrollment and oversee administration of the benefits portal.
  • Administer 401K plan activities, including ensuring accurate and timely employee and employer contributions, reconciling plan activity, supporting annual audit requirements, and maintaining fund files and compliance documentation.

HR Administrative Activities

  • Responsible for completion of new hire offer letters and background checks.
  • Assist in updating and communication of the employee handbook and company policies
  • Assist employees with any issues regarding benefits or pay.

Other

  • Provide recommendations for and assist in implementation of process improvement(s).

Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Skills

  • Excellent computer skills and moderate to advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred.

  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • 3-5 years' experience.
