MEP Fire Protection Discipline Manager (PE Required)

About the Opportunity

PTS Advance is partnering with a leading MEP consulting engineering firm to identify a Fire Protection Discipline Manager to lead and expand their Houston practice.

This is a high-visibility leadership role where you'll have the autonomy to build a team, drive strategy, and lead complex, high-profile projects across healthcare, commercial, mission critical, and institutional sectors.

What You'll Do

• Lead and grow the Fire Protection discipline within the Houston office
• Manage and mentor a team of Fire Protection Engineers and designers
• Oversee design and delivery of fire/life safety systems (sprinkler, fire alarm, special hazard systems)
• Serve as a technical expert and ensure compliance with NFPA, IBC, and local codes
• Partner with internal MEP teams and external clients to deliver integrated solutions
• Support business development, client relationships, and project pursuits
• Drive quality, innovation, and best practices across projects

What We're Looking For

• PE (Professional Engineer) license required (Texas strongly preferred)
• 8+ years of experience in Fire Protection / Fire & Life Safety Engineering
• Background in MEP consulting / AEC environment
• Proven leadership experience (Discipline Lead, Manager, or similar)
• Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, IBC, and life safety systems
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and fire protection design tools
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
