Position Summary
The Vice President (VP) of Supply Chain & Strategic Sourcing is a critical leadership role responsible for the end-to-end strategy, acquisition, and management of assets and materials essential for constructing, equipping, and operating remote workforce housing hubs. This role manages high-impact, enterprise-wide sourcing to drive cost efficiencies, supply chain resilience, and quality standards for modular units, site infrastructure, and amenities. The VP will ensure uninterrupted, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery of assets to remote project sites.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Asset Acquisition: Develop and execute a national procurement strategy for modular units, kitchen/dining equipment, back up power generation, and recreation facilities.
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key manufacturers of modular units, building materials, and logistics partners. Establish long-term contracts to ensure priority allocation and mitigate risk.
Cost Optimization & Negotiating: Lead high-stakes negotiations for major supplier agreements to achieve annual cost reduction targets without sacrificing quality. Utilize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models to evaluate purchasing decisions.
Logistics & Project Coordination: Partner with Operations and Construction teams to align procurement initiatives with project timing and customer demand, ensuring seamless delivery to remote, fast-paced work sites.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure all sourcing complies with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements. Mitigate risks related to supplier financial health, geopolitical issues, and supply chain disruptions.
Technology & Data Analytics: Leverage ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data analytics to optimize inventory, improve visibility, and forecast demand.
Leadership: Work closely with the procurement team to expand the existing vendor base to ensure uninterrupted supply of material to the project sites.
Required Experience and Skills
Experience: 10-15+ years of strategic sourcing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in procurement for industrial construction, modular building, or large-scale, remote-site workforce housing is required.
Sourcing Expertise: Strong experience with large-scale procurement of manufactured assets, construction materials, and logistics.
Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage high-value contracts and Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree (MBA) is preferred.
Leadership: Excellent executive-level communication, negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Physical & Travel Demands
Ability to travel frequently (50%+) to remote, active construction sites.
Capable of navigating active construction, warehouse, and operational sites.
