DESCRIPTION:

As an Estimating Intern at Fisk Electric, reporting to the Chief Estimator, you will have the opportunity to: receive guidance from estimating team to learn the concepts and process of conceptual estimates & budgets up to $1M, develop detailed cost estimates and proactively identify deficiencies and/or questions, and actively assist the project team toward the answers.

• Assist in estimating tasks for technical, healthcare, or industrial projects

• Support the development of conceptual estimates and budgets

• Help review proposal scopes to ensure accurate cost estimates

• Assist in detailed cost analysis, identifying questions or missing information

• Review contract documents to understand scope changes and cost impacts

• Gain hands-on experience with estimating software (McCormick, Bluebeam)

• Perform basic estimate take-offs under guidance

• Develop foundational knowledge of NEC and industry standards

REQUIREMENTS:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

• Foundational understanding of engineering fundamentals with proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, McCormick, and Acrobat is a plus.

• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications to perform accurate quantity take-offs.
