We welcome families with offerings that include 13 exhibits, a performing arts series, a full slate of cultural programming, science activities led by degreed educators, and weekly Free Family Nights.Job Summary:Responsible for the daily assigned operations of the café.* This position is posted on an ongoing basis to build a pool of qualified candidates for current and future opportunities.Responsibilities:* Assists Café Supervisor as needed.* Provide excellent customer service.* Maintain inventory of Kid's Café. Monitor stock levels and replenish items, ensuring the rotation of perishables.* Monitor vending machines in the courtyard, including stocking product and emptying cash.* Handle register transactions, wait on customers, take and prepare orders, keep seating area clean (floor and table), deliver food to customers, make coffee and popcorn, serve ice cream and icees, wash dishes and help with morning prep in the food* Help with all opening and closing procedures (from setting up chairs in the morning to cleaning and restocking everything before going home, regardless of shift).* Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time.* Must be able to lift 25 pounds; carry, load carts, and lift overhead to fill ice in soda machine.* Other duties as assigned.Skills Required:* Excellent customer service skills* Math Skills* Bilingual (preferredWorking Conditions:* Working with food processing equipment* Handling food* Handling cash, checks, and credit cards* May require working indoors and outdoors* Weekend work (required)
