This role supports patients traveling by wheelchair or stretcher while maintaining strict sanitation standards and delivering excellent customer service. This is a labor intensive, patient facing role requiring physical stamina, professionalism, and reliability.Key Responsibilities• Escort patients safely and efficiently from entry points to initial appointments using wheelchairs or stretchers• Complete daily disinfection and tracking logs for each patient transport• Sanitize equipment prior to each use following established disinfection protocols• Assist patients on and off equipment using approved safety checklists• Provide courteous, compassionate, and professional service to patients and caregivers• Navigate the campus independently while following all directions and procedures• Maintain consistent punctuality and attendance• Support coverage at alternate MD Anderson locations as neededPhysical Requirements• Ability to push patients weighing up to 250 pounds via wheelchair or stretcher• Remain on feet for the duration of the shift• Perform repetitive physical tasks in a fast paced healthcare environmentRequired Qualifications• High school diploma• At least 1 year of patient care experience and strong customer service experience• Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor• Ability to follow instructions at all timesPreferred Qualifications• Healthcare or hospital transport experience• Strong customer service and patient interaction skillsSchedule and Training• Part Time only• Shifts vary between 6:45 AM and 5:15 PM• Rotating weekends and some holidays required• Mandatory training Monday through Friday from approximately 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM for up to three weeks regardless of assigned shiftAdditional Information• Parking is at the employee's expense• Position requires flexibility to assist at locations outside the main campus• This role is physically demanding and best suited for candidates who are compassionate, dependable, and comfortable with labor intensive work
