GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a dedicated Bilingual Tool Room Clerk to join our team at Greens Bayou Pipe Mill in East Houston. This role is vital in managing, maintaining, and distributing tools and equipment to support the smooth operation of our Maintenance and Production teams. The ideal candidate will ensure that tools, parts, and supplies are well-organized, properly tracked, and available when needed, while maintaining a high level of safety and efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Issue and manage the inventory of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for warehouse employees.
- Efficiently issue, receive, and track tools and equipment, ensuring timely availability for employees.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records for tools, parts, and supplies.
- Regularly inspect tools for damage or wear and ensure they meet safety standards.
- Keep the tool room organized, clean, and orderly, ensuring an efficient workspace.
- Perform routine inventory checks and restock tools, parts, and supplies as needed.
- Maintain proper documentation for tool usage and other related records.
- Assist in the ordering of tool repairs, replacements, and new equipment as required.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and workplace regulations.
- Actively support the Maintenance and Production teams by ensuring tool availability and assisting with tool-related needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in inventory management is preferred but not required.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Excel and Word, for tracking inventory and maintaining records is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools, machinery, and equipment used in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive team-oriented attitude.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently on a routine basis and handle materials safely as part of daily job duties.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and maintain safe body positioning while performing tasks and moving through the work area, including walking on concrete floors and uneven surfaces.
- Frequent squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting, requiring full-body mobility, balance, and upper- and lower-body strength to perform work safely.
- Manual agility to operate tools safely and effectively, with regular use of arms, shoulders, and back for lifting, reaching, and positioning tasks.
- Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
- Maintain adequate visual and auditory acuity to safely perform assigned tasks, including but not limited to: identifying potential hazards, reading and/or recording measurements, inspecting materials, and responding promptly to verbal instructions, alarms or hand signals in the work environment
