Assistant Superintendent – Commercial Construction

Location: Houston, TX

A respected Commercial General Contractor in Houston is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the delivery of ground-up commercial projects across K-12, Higher Education, Religious, and Medical sectors. This contractor has a strong backlog of work and a reputation for building long-term careers, not short-term roles.

This position is ideal for an Assistant Superintendent or a Project Engineer who is ready to grow into an Assistant Superintendent role under experienced leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Superintendent with daily on-site operations
• Assist with scheduling, site logistics, and subcontractor coordination
• Monitor safety, quality control, and project progress
• Help track daily reports, inspections, and punch lists
• Coordinate inspections and ensure work is completed per plans and specs
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite

Requirements

• Experience on ground-up commercial construction projects
• Background in commercial construction (K-12, education, religious, or medical preferred)
• Open to candidates progressing from Field Engineer, Senior Foreman, or Assistant Superintendent roles
• Stable employment history — this client values loyalty and long-term tenure
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and jobsite operations
• Houston-based or willing to work locally
