Document Control Specialist
The purpose of this position is to develop and maintain a comprehensive filing system and computer database for all documents that insures fast retrieval of documents.
LOCATION:
- Requires daily onsite attendance; this is not a remote-work position.
Duties And Responsibilities
Collect, maintain, and distribute all documents necessary to define product configuration and control manufacturing processes to ensure conformance to customer requirements and internal processes and procedures, including:
- Check internal documents PIDs, FATs, Work Orders, etc. and external documents from vendor such as CoCs, MTRs and other supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance; Report errors.
- Scan, upload and file documents into company's database according to company procedures.
- Comprehend the details of the Data Books requirements for each project. Following a standard template, build manufacturing Data Packs and Data Books in electronic and/or hard copy form.
- Ensure that users have the latest revision of appropriate documentation in a timely manner and obsolete documentation is removed from distribution.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Gather and analyze information skillfully; Develop alternative solutions; Work well in group problem solving situations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with manufacturing documentation, including building manufacturing data packs or data books.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel.
- Proficient with Document Management Software (i.e., Kofax and Adobe).
DESIRED:
- Document Control experience preferred. Knowledge of document management process and procedures, including ability to organize documents for distribution, traceability, retrieval, and archiving preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision in fast passed environment.
- Very detail oriented, analytical thinking, problem solving and good personal organization skills with ability to multitask.
- Time-oriented approach to handling queries and tasks.
- Computer skills - Working knowledge of MS Office suite, documentation management software, and e-mail.
