Job Summary:

Under minimal supervision, the Production Tech will be responsible for Grinding Set-Up and all aspects of the grinding process. They will set-up and operate multiple grinders, while being responsible for making sure their grinders are working at full capacity, are stocked with needed materials, well-maintained, perform periodic checks on output, while operating grinders in a manner that promotes safety and efficiency of grinding springs to blueprint.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Set up and operate multiple grinder.
  • Conduct first piece and in-process quality checks.
  • Identifying problems, gaps, make required improvements (root cause analysis)
  • Review, investigation, and completion of required daily documentation.
  • Follow all safety and company policies
  • Assure good housekeeping and machine maintenance practices

SKILLS and ABILITIES
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in setting up and operating grinders.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints (GD&T)
  • The ability to perform quality checks on parts utilizing calipers and testing equipment.
  • Able to work flexible hours and over time when required to meet customer demand.
  • Basic Windows knowledge
  • Strong mechanical background

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment operating production machinery / equipment
  • Must be able to read and understand work instructions
  • Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and read basic blueprints is a plus
