Description:

PL/SC COORDINATOR

Responsible for planning and scheduling transmission line & substation projects and/or maintenance tasks. Performs long range planning for construction projects that require scheduled outages, and develops integrated outage schedules for all outage tasks. Ensures all work is completed in accordance with Entergy procedures and within compliance guidelines (SoX).

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops short- and long-term schedules, updates area work plans, schedules work requests, and maintains documentation within scheduling software and/or maintenance applications
  • Maintains and performs updates on activities scheduled, resolves time constraint conflicts, proactively identifies variances and develops explanations to schedule changes, monitors close out tasks, and sends out reminders as needed
  • Proactively works with contract partners to obtain weekly schedule updates on construction projects
  • Interfaces with internal groups such as Project Management and Construction, Major Accounts, Asset Management, Capital Projects, Transmission Control Centers, Distribution Operations Center and Transmission Operations Planning for planned outages and resource coordination
  • Adjust schedules and work plans based on stakeholder feedback
  • Submits and monitors maintenance and/or project outage requests in TOMS based on reviews of the work plan requirements
  • Coordinates and leads weekly scheduling conferences with local management personnel
  • Identifies deficiencies, analyzes alternatives and proactively recommends solutions to schedule conflicts, to improve schedule workflow and transition between stage gates.
  • Works with affected parties to ensure that conflicts are resolved and/or mitigated
  • Works with project team to develop baseline schedules for construction projects
  • Work with construction OC's to plan switching tasks
  • Run AirsWeb coaching observations reports, analyze data looking for trends and send to construction group and management
  • Assists with coordination and tracking of material and equipment deliveries and determine if material and equipment deliveries will affect projects and/or maintenance tasks, and ensure adjustments are made as needed
  • Provide data to Supervisor that supports efforts to improve the execution of projects i.e. schedule performance in regard to EN/SWMS, as-builts, and all other compliance data is submitted within guidelines.
  • Work with team and contractors to develop quality Risk Assessment documentation to support project schedules.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Education:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience (detailed below)
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field

Minimum Experience:

  • Pl/Sc Coord: with an Associate degree: 0 - 4 years of experience in a related field or function
  • without an Associate degree: at least 2 -4 years of experience in a related field or function
  • Pl/Sc Coord II: At least 4 - 6 years of experience in a related field or function
  • with an Associate degree: 4 - 6 years of experience in a related field or function
  • without an Associate degree: at least 6 years of experience in a related field or function
  • Pl/Sc Coord Sr: At least 6 years of experience in a related field or function
  • with an Associate degree: 6+ years of experience in a related field or function
  • without an Associate degree: 8+ years of experience in a related field or function

Preferred: At least 2 years of operational experience in the construction, power plant or utility sector

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with current computer-based business applications
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with multiple levels of the organizational structure
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Experience/training in scheduling resources or maintenance and construction practices
  • Efficient with Microsoft Office Excel and database applications
  • Preferred:
    • Knowledge of/experience with SWMS, Energization Notices, TAORS, Primavera programs
    • Experience in substation or relay maintenance and construction
    • Ability to understand and interpret policies and procedures applicable to the Business Unit
    • Experience in planning and scheduling maintenance and construction activities
