Position Summary
Performs laboratory tests to support research efforts in identifying potential drug or biologic candidates for efficacy against disease through a variety of scientific techniques, instrumentation, and disciplines by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Works collectively with the clinical team by providing services as directed by the physician and/or nurse manager.
- Generate Data from a Variety of Laboratory techniques and analytic instrumentation such as Hematology, Chemistry.
- Participate in experiment designed to evaluate the effectiveness of new methodology by running batch samples against library of known substances, Controls, Calibrators .
- Adheres to industry and government standards regarding technique and safe handling of biohazards materials/Specimens.
- Calibrates analytical instrumentation.
- Tabulates and Graphs data, and prepare technical reports for Lead Lab Tech / Lab Manager.
- Access data acquisition software and enters data in multiple or off-site such as Proficiency testing institute.
- Maintains laboratory notebooks, archives, and sample or specimen repository.
- Perform other duties as assigned

- High School Diploma or equivalent; one to two years related experience and/or training preferred.

- Completes annual educational requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
