Job Summary
As Director, HR, you will report hierarchically to the ABGI USA CEO and functionally to the Group HR Director. As a member of the ABGI USA leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping organizational culture, delivering high-quality HR solutions, and supporting the development and expansion of our talent offerings. You will oversee an internal HR team to manage onboarding, personnel administration, training, talent development, employee relations and performance management. Further, you will partner with our internal Talent Solutions team to ensure alignment in forecast and delivery of internal recruiting objectives.
This role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and emotional intelligence, as you will serve as a key advisor to senior leadership and a trusted partner to employees. The ideal candidate balances strategic vision with approachability, leading with integrity, modeling company values, and building credibility across all organizational levels. You will oversee all core HR functions—including employee relations, compliance, benefits, payroll, internal recruiting, and leadership development—ensuring strong alignment between people strategy and overall business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure effective implementation of local and Group HR policies, procedures and compliance standards.
- Identify and close gaps in HR processes and drive high-impact initiatives.
- Partner with leadership to implement employee development and retention programs.
- Lead internal recruiting strategy and workforce planning to support business growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support organizational design and succession planning.
- Maintain regular communication with Group HR.
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
- Understand and champion the company's mission, vision, and strategic priorities; align HR goals accordingly to support the business's long-term objectives.
- Build trusted partnerships with leaders across business units, offering counsel and insight on people matters, organizational effectiveness, and change management.
- Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
- Develop and implement HR strategies that address key areas including performance management, onboarding, compensation, employee relations, and internal recruiting.
- Serve as a key thought leader on workforce trends and HR best practices, offering insights that support agility and innovation.
- Act as a core member of the leadership team, helping to shape company culture, increase employee engagement, and support revenue growth through strong people operations.
- Lead and develop a small internal team of HR professionals and recruiters, ensuring exceptional internal client service and execution.
Administration, Compliance & Compensation
- Develop, recommend, and implement HR processes, systems, and services to support employees and managers across the organization.
- Oversee bi-monthly payroll execution, employee records management, and HRIS administration.
- Lead the annual benefits renewal process—from vendor planning and negotiation through open enrollment and ongoing plan administration.
- Create and execute a scalable, compliant compensation framework that considers market trends, internal equity, and performance outcomes.
- Provide support and consultation to managers and employees on the interpretation and application of company policies and procedures.
- Ensure HR practices are clearly communicated and in full compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and evolving regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and analyze key people metrics and monthly HR reporting to enable leadership to make data-driven decisions.
- Monitor and ensure full compliance with employment laws and HR best practices, adapting to the needs of a fast-paced professional services environment.
Change Management
- Drive internal communications around organizational changes and strategic initiatives.
- Partner with senior leadership to anticipate potential pitfalls and risks during periods of transition.
- Lead planning, delivery, and adoption strategies for HR-driven company initiatives.
- Champion continuous improvement across HR programs and processes.
Employee Advocacy & Culture Building
- Act as a trusted advisor and employee advocate to support workplace engagement and morale.
- Handle individual employee disputes, contract terminations, and legally sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
- Investigate and resolve employee relations concerns to maintain a positive and legally compliant work environment.
- Oversee employee benefits programs and provide education to drive awareness, retention, and overall well-being.
- Foster a culture of inclusion, performance, and growth aligned with company values.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Organizational Development, or related field (Master's or certifications a plus).
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in a consulting or professional services setting.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. employment law, compliance, talent management, and HR operations.
- Experience overseeing HR for a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
- Proven success in leading high-performing HR and recruiting teams.
