What can you expect? As the Construction Manager, you will work onsite in Houston, TX, planning and directing all aspects of the construction department according to policies, goals, and objectives set by the Company President and General Manager. You will supervise and develop the management, safety, and support staff of the department, lead planning and staffing for all projects, and deliver results that support growth and efficiency while embodying Calista Brice's core values.

How will you do it?

  • Plan, schedule, and implement work for all projects with construction staff, including regular site visits.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of safety and quality plans at the project level in collaboration with the Safety Manager, ensuring compliance with safety policies.
  • Recruit construction staff as needed and plan training to maintain and expand capabilities.
  • Provide job costs, quantities, and projections to leadership as needed.
  • Assist in developing departmental goals and coordinate with IT for project management software.
  • Establish project policies, procedures, and standards within company and contract boundaries.
  • Manage claims negotiations, dispute resolution, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain communication with leadership regarding project status and issues.
  • Compile financial updates and manage project reporting and forecasting.
  • Ensure communication of policies and collaborate across departments.
  • Manage projects as workload requires and support business development efforts.
  • Uphold ethical practices and support company officers and managers.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises construction management, safety, and support staff.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Advanced knowledge of construction practices, budgeting, scheduling, safety, and industry software; strong leadership, communication, organizational, and ethical skills; ability to work in a team and travel as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or related field; 10+ years in Heavy Civil Construction Project Management; 5+ years in supervisory roles; valid drivers license; ability to pass screenings.

Preferred Qualifications: PE registration in Texas; familiarity with HCSS, Viewpoint Spectrum, Deltek Costpoint; Spanish language skills preferred.
