Description:

Clayton Services is searching for an Electrical Controls Engineer to join a thriving company in Houston, Texas. The Electrical Controls Engineer will have previous experience working in the wastewater industry.

Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Rate: $130,000-$160,000/year

Electrical Controls Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead the electrical design for wastewater projects
  • Provide technical guidance on client standards and expectations
  • Support business development in presentation preparation and client questions
  • Review supplier submittals
  • Startup and testing of major electrical equipment
  • Liaise between the design team and client on projects
  • Design, develop, and implement PLC and DCS-based control systems for process automation.
  • Design and integrate SCADA systems.
  • Inspect construction and resolve electrical construction issues
  • Act as the technical expert on electrical power distribution and plant electrical systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Electrical Controls Engineer Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Engineering design software proficiency

  • Electrical Controls Engineer Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required. A master's is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in PLC programming.
  • Proficiency with DCS platforms
  • Experience configuring and supporting SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of field instrumentation.
  • Working knowledge of HSIS.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience working as an electrical controls engineer is required.
  • Some travel may be required, approximately 10-20%
