Description:

A leading provider of multi-craft industrial services is seeking an Estimating Engineer to lead and enhance the heat trace estimating function. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented electrical professional with strong analytical and communication skills. Working collaboratively, the new team member will support project success by preparing accurate estimates, evaluating technical requirements, and aligning with stakeholder needs while contributing to process improvements and supporting overall business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the execution of the Heat Trace Estimating team functions, including electrical calculations, heat trace design, and proposal drafting.
  • Review estimates and project designs for accuracy and to ensure that they produce healthy project margins.
  • Design/calculate power distribution systems, including sizing of panels, wires, cables, and details as to appropriate conduit runs for compliance.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and customers to resolve any requests, questions, or scope modifications.
  • Manage and develop estimating tools to simplify and improve our estimating processes.
  • Draft estimates for existing and new customers to meet the company's financial and budgetary milestones.
  • Walkdown projects on site to estimate scope of work upon customer requests or when documentation provided is not sufficient for the estimation.
  • Work closely with operations team to ensure estimations meet execution capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Electrical estimating experience of 5+ years
  • Must have Heat trace experience
  • Proficient in computer programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Expertise or strong understanding of Salesforce
  • The ability to draft professional business communications between stakeholders
  • Operational/field experience in the construction, manufacturing, field services or other industrial environments, with a proven understanding of productivity drivers
  • Organization, presentation, and communication skills are paramount; will have to conduct presentations and discussions weekly with operations and functional leadership.
  • Be able to demonstrate expert level experience on a personal computer and application software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
