The Network Security Engineer (F5 Solutions) is responsible for researching, implementing, and administering network security solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Works closely with internal technology teams, business stakeholders, and outside vendors to research, design, test, evaluate, and select network solutions to secure and protect the infrastructure.
  2. Deploys and manages network equipment, as well as load balancers, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
  3. Monitors networks and network security systems; tracks, manages, and alerts appropriate parties of vulnerabilities, attacks, and other security issues.
  4. Recommends and implements policies and procedures to ensure adherence to security standards.
  5. Assists with high-level troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Competencies Required:

  1. Demonstrated success in managing, analyzing, and solving complex network technical issues.
  2. Technical knowledge of security configurations, log analysis, intrusion detection, and mitigation.
  3. Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills with an ability to effectively interact with and convey information to people who possess varying levels of understanding on applicable topics.
  4. Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
  5. Solid understanding of network security practices, systems, and standards.
  6. Strong technology skills, including intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio) and Cisco platforms.
  7. Customer service orientation with proven process and project management skills.
  8. Strategic and problem-solving mindset with developed analytical abilities and organizational skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  1. Minimum of 3 years network administration experience required.
  2. Experience with F5 solutions, including LTM, GTM/DNS, APM, WAF, and/or AFM required.
  3. Other beneficial experience (i.e., Cisco Routing/Switching, SIEM, VA, IPS, Cloud Security, Routing and Switching, Tenable, CASB, Python, Automation/Orchestration), preferred.
  4. Financial services or banking industry experience preferred.

Formal Education & Certification:

  1. F5 or Cisco Certified preferred.

Conditions involve lifting no more than ten pounds, sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, moving, or standing for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying articles like files, ledgers, folders, etc.
