The Director of Professional Development and Recruiting is responsible for working with HSM community leadership teams to support their recruitment, staff engagement, and retention efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee the Organization's systems for recruitment, selection, and retention of staff. Partners with communities to troubleshoot advertisement and recruitment efforts as needed and assist in the ongoing minimization of external agency staffing.
• Monitor both regional and local relationships with schools, technical colleges, and universities that may offer internship programs or clinical rotations. Identify potential opportunities for new relationships within each geographic market that we operate.
• Plan, lead and attend internal and external interview sessions, social functions and other recruiting programs and initiatives in support of community needs.
• Lead the Organization's efforts in the design, implementation and monitoring of our culture of continuous improvement with respect to quality and composition of staff.
• Work with the Organization's Executives to identify and assess professional development needs and experience gaps that may be addressed through professional development and continuing education.
• Plan and implement internal training programs and strategies to assist new staff with respect to orientation within the HSM Network of communities.
• Participate in exit interviews of departing staff to assess reasons for departure and lessons to be learned from same.
• Coordinate with other service areas (Human Resources/Benefits, Payroll Administration, Legal, Quality, etc.) to promote efficient and effective employee engagement programs.
Education, Qualifications and Skills
• Associate or Bachelor's Degree required, with at least 5 years of progressively responsible work experience with a long-term care or related healthcare organization.
• Practical experience with resume review, candidate screening, interviewing, evaluating candidates, presentation and recruiting “sales” functions.
• Prior experience with system development, monitoring, and oversight is required (not just solely recruiting or day-to-day HR functions).
This position's home base can be at either our Houston, TX or Crystal River, FL offices. Hybrid-remote candidates may also be considered if located within the general geographic location of these markets.
