As a part of the Sibelco Legal Team, the Director, Legal role will empower you to advise and support the Glass Recycling North America Team from a legal perspective.

Your Impact in This Role

As the Director, Legal, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Writing legal opinions that sometimes require extensive research of statutes, regulations or court decisions.
• Conducting the usual lawyer's functions of research, preparing legal documents, negotiating with outside parties, rendering opinions, consulting with and advising clients, and representing the company in dealing with others.
• Working closely with internal customers and/or senior management to evaluate the legal impact of major decisions where applicable law, regulations or facts of the case are unclear, controversial or conflicting.
• Supporting country managers within the sub-region in their role as legal representatives of the organization with joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions and divestments (including amongst others, legal due diligence, drafting, reviewing, assisting in negotiation of sale purchase of shared/assets agreements, shareholders' agreements, joint venture agreements, (research) collaboration agreements and any other legal documentation necessary to give effect to the envisaged transactions).
• Provide support with reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of mainly commercial contracts with third parties (including amongst others, in the following domains: sale and purchase of products and/or services, distributorship, agency, confidentiality, IT, contractor, procurement, (sub)lease, quarry operations, etc) in close cooperation with colleagues from other departments.
• Provide legal advice, guidance, information and analysis in amongst others Corporate & Commercial Law, data protection- and intellectual property law (including amongst others: addressing branding related questions, responding to questions regarding preferable options to protect innovative and new business technologies and products, keeping an overview of the global patent portfolio, etc).

What You Bring to the Table

• Juris Doctor
• 5-7 years of experience in a senior legal role in an international organization or practicing law in a large law firm
