Procurement Associate

Location: Houston, TX (In-office role with remote flexibility)

Compensation: $85k - $100k + bonus + profit sharing


The Business

Our client is a PE-backed IPP focused on owning and developing renewable energy projects.


Key Responsabilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers, focusing on securing high-quality components at optimal costs.
  • Manage deliverables and review processes in collaboration with engineering teams to ensure timely supply schedules.
  • Create and update supplier scorecards to monitor performance and reliability metrics.
  • Work closely with legal and finance teams to support project financing and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing shifts, and technological advancements within the renewable energy and battery energy storage sectors.
  • Provide insights to refine procurement strategies for future projects.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, financing requirements, and industry standards during all procurement activities.
  • Maintain proper documentation and reporting for audit readiness and contract traceability.
  • Collaborate with third-party engineers and consultants to evaluate designs and ensure compliance with financial and technical standards.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of procurement experience, ideally within the energy, infrastructure, or power generation industries.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong skills in analysis, negotiation, and communication.
  • Proven track record of managing supplier relationships and evaluating vendor performance.
  • Proficiency in document management tools (e.g., SharePoint, OneDrive) and document archiving processes.
  • Familiarity with solar PV and battery energy storage systems and renewable energy industry trends is a plus.
  • Experience negotiating EPC contracts or equipment supply agreements.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
  • Knowledge of procurement and project management tools such as Microsoft Project or SAP is preferred.
