Job Description

Select Water is looking for a Land Representative to join our Infrastructure Team, located in Houston, TX. The Land Rep will have a thorough understanding of midstream operations, including right-of-way acquisition, landowner negotiations and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have proven the ability to assist in managing large land related projects, strong organizational skills, and the ability to think outside the box and be a problem solver.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to

  • Manage right-of-way related activities and compliance measures associated with a project from concept to completion.
  • Conduct diverse and complex negotiations with landowners (or their designees).
  • Work on the settlement of complex damage claims with landowners (or their designees) relative to property damage caused or created during construction.
  • Advise and assist in establishing a range of fair market values to be used in the acquisition of land and land rights of access.
  • Draft and/or supervise the preparation of documents for rights of entry, damage claims, contracts, easements, licenses, leases, permits, options to purchase and other documents as may be necessary to acquire adequate rights for the project.
  • Organize and monitor the progress of right-of-way work assignments for multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage outside consultants in the acquisition of rights and other duties required for projects.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field; In lieu of a bachelor's degree will consider relevant job-related experience for a non-degree candidate.
  • 5+ years of ROW experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth, ArcGIS, and data management software.
  • Must have the ability to work well with people, be a team player.
  • Must be a self-starter and detail oriented.
  • Must possess good reasoning, analytical, and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Physical Demands and Exposures

  • This position works inside a climate-controlled environment in the corporate. The Company will supply adequate training and equipment to perform the functions of the job.
  • Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm.
  • Involves sitting at a desk for extended periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity to operate specialized equipment.
  • Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
